Fall is my favorite season of the year, especially as a sweater designer. I get to design beautiful sweaters and experiment with different yarns and shapes. Think of soft cashmeres and lush Italian yarns! So exciting!
Besides work, I also just love getting cozy in layers and mix-n-match to create new outfits. As fall trickles in and I’m rearranging my closets to the new season, I’ve found a few trends that really caught my eye.
Here are top 5 trend items you might consider finding space to refresh your wardrobe. I know I will!
Bright Color Sweaters: A sweater is a must have in everyone’s closet when the temperature drops. Since I’m a sweater designer, I legitimately become bias to this category. I have many sweaters in neutral colors. Updating them with fresh pop colors will make any dismal weather seem brighter.
Autumnal Florals: Prints and patterns are great ways to make a statement. For fall, all I want are florals and foliage patterns in my closet. I love them in burgundy, deep forest green and golden yellows.
Something Velvet: I haven’t seen velvet this popular since the 90’s. This luscious velvet-y material started to make it’s come back last year and will continue its presence this year in an explosive range of clothing and accessories. I wore a velvet slip dress here on this post last fall. Can’t wait to add these to my closet!
Embellished Fetish: This is one of my favorite trend and I’m so glad it’s back! I’ve mentioned about maximalism on this post and there is no slowing down on this trend. It may be “much” to wear the trend head-to-toe. So try wearing one piece at a time and pair it back with something basic, like a pair of jeans or skinny leg pants. Let the bling do all the talking.
Romantic Lace: You can’t “do” fall without lace! It is a MUST HAVE. It will add romance and femininity to all your outfits. This season, designers found creative ways of mixing the material with other fabrics. Try adding this to your wardrobe. You’ll thank me later.
Happy Fall shopping everyone!
