A new lunch spot (check), a new friend (check) and new outfits (check) are all it takes for that perfect lunch date. I had the pleasure to shoot these gorgeous photos at Rider, the hottest restaurant in town. When I first stumbled across the restaurant, I had no idea it just opened. I went inside and eagerly was impressed by the beauty of this fine establishment. It’s located inside the newly renovated landmark, Hotel Theodore (previously The Roosevelt Hotel), which by the way is GORGEOUS! My first thought was “WOW! I can’t wait to do a photo shoot here someday.” And that day arrived
THE LUNCH SPOT:
Brand spanking new to downtown Seattle, Rider is a restaurant serving delectable dishes using ingredients from “Ocean – Forest”. The inspiration for the food celebrates the city’s “regional characteristics” and foundations from the fishing and lodging community. Serving not just only lunch, they’re open for breakfast, bunch, happy hour and dinner welcoming all sorts of life.
The open wood fired grill sits in the center of the restaurant, is pretty much the main attraction that’s constantly cooking up something good. The ambiance was light and swanky, accompanied by friendly and knowledgable staff. And then there was the food! Each dish prepared was meticulously plated together with unexpected bold flavors. You MUST order the Artisan Cesar with Smoked Chicken. You’ll thank me later!
Not feeling hungry? They have a full bar adjacent to the hotel and restaurant, serving coloful signature cocktails and for me, mock-tails (a.k.a. zero proof alcohol). Light bar snacks and dishes are on the menu in case you change your mind. There’s something for everyone! Come visit. It will not disappoint!
I met my new friend Cortney, at a local influencer event a few months ago. (She’s the cute blogger babe that writes The Grey Edit. If you don’t know about her already, you’re missing out.) We instantly connected, because we both work at the same company and have the same blogiversary. Ever since we shared photo shoots, coffee dates and dreamt of owning our business one day. There are even times we find ourselves thinking about the same things, at the same time. Weird (in a good way)! There are people in life that you are meant to meet and connect with. Cort is one of them! Can’t wait to see this friendship grow. Love you babes!
Cort and I collaborated with Jarbo, a local designer boutique for this photo shoot. The collection complimented perfectly with the Rider’s upscale aesthetic. Their designs has a luxury and modern sensibility with a limited neutral color palette, which makes each piece timeless and effortless.
As a designer myself, I favor quality and understand fit very well. I have to say each outfit that we selected were made beautifully. The craftsmanship was impeccable. Don’t even get me started with these suede trousers! I’m very picky when it comes to a pant fit, and these fitted like a glove! That’s coming a lot from me!
They currently have two stores in Seattle and nine more throughout major cities in the U.S. with presence in online as well. Going somewhere warm? The pre Spring collection is readily available to shop. Enjoy!
All in all, it was a perfect day!
