The Husband Sweater
It’s Momday (aka crazy Monday)! My daughter, Kinsley, styled my outfit with a Ben Sherman sweater blazer from my husband’s closet. I initially bought it for him last year at their closed-out Soho, NYC store for $50. Score! She thought it’ll be funny if I wore “daddy’s” clothes to work. To my surprise, it actually worked! I loved the wool blend material and the soft structure of the oversized silhouette. Kinda gives off the updated 80’s-office-girl-vibe, minus the shoulder pads.
To off-set the masculinity of the sweater blazer, I have on the ruffle YSL pencil skirt I purchased from RealReal, for $75. Score again! Ruffles has been playing a huge part of Fall trends this season. There’s tons out there, but be sure to spend moderately priced ones, as the trend might be around for just few more seasons, according to trend experts. Keep in mind, choose an on-trend piece to wear in one of your clothing articles, to avoid looking like a costume. A ruffle top + ruffle skirt = HOT MESS!
Onto the Rodarte “Radarte” tee, a lucky find from Nordstrom Rack, but here’s one I found on this site. Love the silver logo print giving a bit of shine to a casual tee. I wanted to play off the seriousness of the pencil skirt, by pairing a t-shirt. When it came to finishing Kinsley choices, she says, “Mama, I love those gloves! You have to wear them, since it’s cold today.” And she was right! The classic plaid Echo Touch Tech gloves are not only practical, it’s also functional with “touch screen” capabilities for my smartphone, so I don’t have to remove my gloves whenever I use my phone. So brilliant!
Last but not least, I got to wear my newly purchased Quay sunnies, bought from a local store Clementines, on a rare sunny winter day in Seattle. The retro shape with updates of copper metal details on the edge and rim, completes the outfit! Kinsley strikes again!
“Step outside the box. Fashion has no limits.”
Make sure to follow me, every Monday to reveal the outfit styled by my daughter Kinsley.
