Welcome to the STYLELOGUE – OFF DUTY SWIMWEAR!
On this June issue, the STYLELOGUE ladies, Cortney, Mary and I restyled swimwear pieces, to stretch the wardrobe closet in an entire new different level.
That’s right! Swimwear is not worn just to the beaches or lounging by the poolside anymore. It can be restyled from casual to work events, as long your style game is strong. Allow the STYLELOGUE possè to inspire you!
With the inception of the bodysuit, street-style has adopted a new way to wear undergarments. Bralettes layered under sheer pieces, corsets cinching over dresses and sports bra under blazers, worn to all sorts of occasions (see above photo).
This is where thinking outside of the box happens, as we brainstorm the next upcoming trend. The idea was, why not step up the swim game and wear the one piece swimsuit as day wear. Crazy, am I right? In fact, even the Editorialist (see above photo) was on the same track! Scroll down and see how we addressed the trend in our own ways.
The Antoinette lacy one piece swimsuit from Mossimo, has all the elements I was looking for: feminine colors and lingerie details. This floral print is not a common pattern you see on swimwear. However, it works here and passes for a bodysuit! Oh and those sexy lacing at the center front is so HOT! I don’t have a big boobs, so the detail works fine. If you are larger in chest area, you might want to consider a different style with more coverage.
I wore a cropped safari olive green jacket over the one-piece suit. It’s light weight and perfect for those cool summer nights. The length hits perfect at waist, just enough cover-up I needed. I wanted a rounded shoulder silhouette for a relaxed casual look. Did you check out those giant cargo pockets!? They reminded me of the safari trend, which was a hit six years ago. They’re coming back strong, so watch out for it.
These poplin high paper waist pants with self tie created an illusion of longer legs and hid that unwanted muffin top. I love the elastic waistband for easy comfort. It creates a gathered look to give more ease around the waist for the extra slice of cake. Casual comfort is key for stuffing my face!
Most importantly, I’ve realized I’ve been matchy-matchy in the accessories department. Take these mint green suede sandals [similar] and the pink quilted bag [similar]. I’ve matched them back to the color story of the swimsuit. Blame it on my mom who used to style her clothes this way. Now, I’ve taken notice that I am becoming just like her. Honestly, it’s a no brainer and makes life so much easier. Thanks mom!
Mary wears a head-to-toe white pantsuit with her marigold yellow one-piece bathing suit. She’s taking this look to work and ready to kick some butt at a PR meeting. Then off she goes to the yacht club for dinner and drinks with her ladies! This girl knows how to get it done!

Mama-to-be, Cortney, struts her sexy baby bump in a non-maternity swimsuit, along side with elevated basics in neutral colors….a cropped jacket, flow-y pants and the cutest accessories. Doesn’t she look amazing?
