HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Welcome to STYLELOGUE: HOLIDAY TINSEL! A sparkly edition of what to wear for those endless party invitations!
‘TIS THE SEASON……Yep, it is that time of year again! In less than a month, the new year turns into a new decade. Who’s excited?
This is when the party invitations roll in and the “to-do” list gets overwhelming. There’s so much to prepare for the holidays, whether you’re playing host or attending a work party, you’ll need outfits! Lot’s of them!
Before shit hits the fan, let the ladies from Stylelogue kickstart the holiday tinsel spirit in high gear with looks that will make you SHINE.

HOLIDAY TINSEL
From runways to retail stores, displays of metallic sparkles in materials are everywhere. Such as leather, lurex, georgette, sequins and tweed were the obvious. See below runway images for references.
Metallic and shine are not just for special occasions anymore. However it appears to be in ready-to-wear, taking casual looks and elevating it for day to evening looks. Prabal Gurung and Alexa Chung are perfect examples of looks, that can take you from desk to cocktail parties.

GOLDEN BABY
When you’re a mom, you need sparkle to compensate for the light inside of you that has died.
-Ali Wong
As a tired and busy mama, you’ll do anything to feel better about yourself. So any chance I get to shine, you can count me in. Bring on the SPARKLES!
To avoid looking like a 24K gold bar, I went for a metallic gold head-to-toe look, but balancing it back to hints of black and ivory. Every piece I am wearing has a touch of metallic. Such as the Chanel chevron tweed jacket. From the shiny buttons to the passementerie around the neck/placket, all the signature details makes this a statement jacket.
I layered a lurex mock neck sweater underneath. Its light weight textured rib, forms a fitted silhouette. The sweater tucked into a pair of Chanel leather trousers, which is my new obsession! It’s made in a supple lamb leather and fits my booty like a glove.

GOLD TOUCHES
A soft structured chainmail pouch is the perfect light weight bag that’ll hold a few essentials. The black Gucci belt with a gold buckle, was needed to round up the color palette. Of course, I love how it looks with the leather trousers too!
I wanted to keep the shoes simple and understated by wearing thin strappy Steve Madden stillettos. A pair of sheer gold metallic hoisery can be worn with these shoes when the weather gets colder.
Above all, a few special pieces of heirloom jewelry makes this outfit complete. A multi-strand vintage gold necklace, Dior tribal earrings and a vintage cocktail costume ring from Peter’s Grandma Shug.
This outfit screams “LOOK AT THIS MAMA! SHE LOOKS LIKE A MILLION BUCKS!”
In all seriousness, I can take this look to work and straight to any holiday cocktail party.

ANGEL BABY
Cortney, the sweet angel she is, wears a long ethereal chevron black and gold dress cinched at the waist with a metallic gold bow belt. In addition, she throws on a pair of metallic ankle booties and a fringe handbag, following the tinsel theme. To keep it casual, she wore a leather biker over the dress. This look can easily dress up with a pair of strappy heels and a fur coat.

SPARKLE BABY
You can always count on Mary to wear the cutest pieces, especially this sequined cocktail dress. She wore them with a pair of Gucci tights she “splurged” on. Threw on a pair of black sexy heels, and this girl is ready for a Mary “sparkle” party! Somebody pour her a glass of bubbles and turn up some Kanye West tunes, please…..
