WELCOME TO THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE OF STYLELOGUE: ASYMMETRICAL VIEWS!
This month’s trend post will be our twelfth issue, which means we’re ONE more away from our FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY post! We can’t hardly believe it. Time definitely flies when you’re having fun!

RUNWAY REFERENCES
But first, let’s talk about October’s trend, Asymmetrical Views. The Stylelogue ladies and I were noticing a common thread of asymmetrical silhouettes, coming down the runways of Fall 2019, from Self-Portrait to Altuzarra – see below photos. Whether it’s a one shoulder (aka cold shoulder), uneven hem or diagonal linear details, there were tons of it.
We’re feeling really good about this trend and it’s definitely here to stay. Because we’re also seeing it continue onto Spring 2020. So put those pieces to the test by checking out how Mary, Cortney and I styled it for three different occasions – DATE NIGHT, WORK DAY, BRUNCH DATE.

DATE NIGHT
My asymmetrical pieces are perfect for dinner and dancing with the hubs. Peter would definitely approve of this outfit. Also, it can be easily worn to a cocktail or those upcoming holiday events at work. Believe it or not, they’re going to happen real soon.
This Stella McCartney white asymmetrical top has enough drama on the right sleeve and bare shoulder for a sexy evening (I’ve linked a few different ones below for extra options). It’s made of light weight cotton poplin. The cut fits like second skin, from the extra stretch in the fabric.
With a built in high waist, I was able to tuck the top into the BlankNYC belted faux leather skirt. The diagonal zipper closure, balances overall the asymmetrical lines. Nothing screams night out, then shiny leathery fabric….well, in this case “faux leather”.

A FEW BLACK TOUCHES
With balancing the asymmetrical lines, all the accessories and shoes I kept black. Although I played around with different textures for novelty.
The stuffed headband is decorated with white pearls going back to the colors of the outfit. It dresses up the outfit and made me feel like a QUEEN!
Nothing looks more modern than a pair of cat eye sunnies. I won’t need them for the evening, but it was hella sunny that afternoon on the deck!
Satin comes to mind when it comes to evening bags. I have a slouchy clutch I’ve collected over the years. Which I’m glad I saved, because Bottega is making a come back on their accessories this Fall with slouchy bags.
One of my pride possessions are these lace ankle booties from Christian Louboutin. For instance, the texture of the lace is romantic and has sex appeal. It gives you the extra strut you need to feel confident! Let’s face it, they are not the easiest to walk in, but they are HOT AS HELL!
Oh one more secret for a hot date night……slip on a pair of thigh highs enough to be covered by the skirt while standing. However, as you’re seated with the skirt hiked up, enough to show the top of the hoisery. A little teaser won’t hurt. You’re freakin’ welcome!

WORK DAY
Mary takes charge of work like she does with her outfits. Especially, a subtle way to address the asymmetrical trend with ease for work. The hot pink top has an uneven drapey hem paired back with mustard color relaxed trousers, completed by a black blazer. This outfit demands attention without giving up style!

BRUNCH DATE
Got weekend brunch plans with the girls? Cortney has the perfect chic outfit to hangout with your besties and pop a few mimosas while you’re at it. This gorgeous printed dress with asymmetrical hem and ruffles screams feminine and trend right. Pairing back with beige slouchy boots and leather biker jacket gives slight edge to this look.
