STATEMENT FUR

Of course, we saved the best for the birthday issue, STATEMENT FUR! This month we are featuring faux fur teddy coats from Max Mara. Go big or go home! Am I right?

TEDDY BEAR ICON COAT

This “celebrity-approved” ultra luxury Teddy Bear Icon Coat is the Fall season must have. The lush blend of camel-wool and silk creates a luxe soft hand feel, that’s second to none. Though oversized in fit, the weight of the coat is surprisingly light and cozy. Makes you want to cuddle in it all day, while feeling like a million bucks!

RED COAT

Got some expert styling tips from Max Mara’s team with this one. They knew the entire collection and how to put them together. So I just went for it with an open mind. However, I made sure it was still “me”.

First of all I just love the classic colors of red, camel, black and a hint of soft white. They all went so harmoniously together. With high end staples, I like to stick with a palette that I can wear over and over again.

Of course I chose this houndstooth jacquard sweater! Such a statement pattern that tied in all the pieces together in both color and silhouette. Made in wool cashmere in the finest Italian fibers, this sweater had me in awe and gave me chills down my spine. SO GOOD!

The camel hair wide leg cropped pant was the perfect color, styling back to the sweater. I love how the pleats gave it extra ease for comfort. And the length was perfect to style back with tall black boots.

BOLD ACCESSORIES

The croc effect 55mm belt was bold and beautiful. A wide belt always gives a nice definition to the waist. The same leather was made in a top handle bag in a classic shape adorned with their famous “M” logo gold metal hardware.

All these pieces is an investment to effortless and timeless style, that can be worn many times over without ever being a victim of trend. Even wearing them separately, I can imagine the coat going back to denim and a pair of sneakers for a “Soccer Mom” look. Or just wearing the sweater over a leather skirt and some heels for a night out with the hubs.

TURQUOISE COAT

Mary’s edgy style is always on point. Especially how she pulls off the turquoise colors in both the coat and turtle neck sweater. Then pairs them over a floral jacquard skirt with biker boots and black croc bag. Takes a real boss to pull these pieces and I don’t know anyone more fierce than Mary to get this done right!

CAMEL COAT

My not so basic “Basic Queen” is Cortney who always never seize to amaze me, when it comes to elevating classic pieces. This outfit has her name written ALLOVER IT! Neutral color palette with black accents in the most effortless shapes! I can see her wearing this look taking her baby boy for a nice walk or out and about in the city with her ladies!

STYLELOGUE JOURNEY

Since the beginning of our journey, with our first post “Chunky Sweater Weather“, talking about the latest in knitwear to “Asymmetrical Views” on how to wear asymmetrical pieces in three different ways, we’ve come a long way (a year to be exact)!

After every photoshoot, Mary, Cortney and I (or at least one of us) would say “that’s my favorite shoot” or “it gets better every month”. We’ve continue to raise the bar, by thinking outside the box on how we can create original content for our audience. Together with our photographer Jason who makes up the dream team, we’ve built something that we are EXTREMELY proud of.

HOW WE ALL MET?

Once upon a time, there were three cute bloggers. Mary from Chicago recently moved to Seattle, met Cortney on Instagram via DM (direct message). They met over coffee (I think) and hit it off instantly. Cortney tells Elisa (me) all great things about her and said we all have to meet ! Three of us met over lunch and Mary goes “let’s do something together…LIKE a collaborative monthly trend post.” Hence, the STYLELOGUE was born.

WHERE DID WE GET THE NAME STYLELOGUE?

Mary and I were walking in the streets after a shoot, and I said “we need a name for this “project”. I started throwing out some names. Some were horrific, but somehow the words of “style” and “diaglogue” mashed up, to STYLELOGUE! Because we were about fashion styling, but want to keep the conversation engaging with our new audience. From then on, the rest is history!

We’ve had so much fun this past year and really grew our relationship to not just “blogger friends”, but a sisterhood. We’re all different in personalities, with multi-cultural backgrounds (Caucasian, Serbian and Chinese). We all have strong skills, and what one person lack, the others make up for it. Mostly, I appreciate how much these ladies mean to me and how we’re always looking out for each other. They are my ride and die “boos” (as we call each other)! Thank you Mary, + Cort! Love you guys!

The outfits and accessories for the STYLELOGUE ladies, loan by Max Mara Bellevue, WA. Claudia, their talented stylist, pulled all the pieces for us. We made sure she approved all the looks before we left the store!
