When an idea of writing a fashion lifestyle blog was brought to my attention by my dear friend Sarah, I was very hesitant. I mean who needs another “fashion blogger” talking about their #OOTD. There are millions out there. She convinced me that I can have a different point of view, given my 18 years designing fashion. As much as my job is creative, I was craving for an outlet of self-expression that is more personal and can speak to a different kind of audience. After much thought, I decide to start writing this blog.
I wanted to be about a life of a working mom and wife that happens to be a fashion designer from New York City. Writing about what I wear to work/travel/events I attended, fashion tips on what’s happening currently in fashion, styling and collaboration projects. So far it has been so much fun being able to express myself and hopefully educate what I’ve learned from my fashion career to my readers.
Today marks six months, since I wrote my first post. It’s a good mid-way checkpoint to reflect on my progress. I went from not knowing anything about running a website to posting, uploading photos, monitoring statistics and twittering. I had no idea how to do any of this, but with the support of family, friends and my small team (Sarah, Eunice and Jason), I was able to write freely. As little or as many followers I may have, as long as I’ve taught or inspire you about fashion, I’ve done my part of the job.
I want to extend my appreciation for all of your comments and sharing my posts. I’m truly grateful and touched by each and everyone of you! As much time and effort it’s been taking to write a blog (11:30 PM right now as I’m writing) with a full-time job, a family and work travels, I love pursuing this new passion. It’s been a nice ride and can wait to see what’s next!
PS: Please let me know what you like to see and read from me going forward. Thank you!
