REFLECTIONS OF 2017 WELCOME 2018! There is so much to look forward with family, friends, travel, health and work. I already have a few trips on the calendar and can’t wait to share where I’ll be traveling. I also have a list of to do’s such as redecorating my house, renovating our kitchen, creating new blog content and even run another marathon. Before I dive into the new year, I’d like to reflect back on 2017. This was the year that was suppose to be “my year”. The time to make things happen and cross some things off the bucket list. I turned the big 4-0 this year, so it was a big deal for me. Let’s look back…… Piazza della Repubblica JANUARY: I started 2017 with an amazing trip to Florence Italy with my college best friend, Jennifer, for our twentieth year reunion. We had an amazing time exploring the city all over again, just like when we were in college. Sometimes it’s ok to go back to the past and relive it. FEBRUARY: We took a family trip to Whistler, Canada for a family ski trip. Believe it or not, I learned how to ski with Kinsley. One big exception, she mastered it on her second day and I didn’t. I was skeptical about the lessons, because I didn’t grow up skiing. But I took on the challenge, so I can spend time with my little family. I still need to take more lessons and get better at it. Stay tune for that! APRIL: It was my first time in six years, traveling to New York City for work. All this time, it’s been about family and friends. But this trip allowed me to focus on market research and found tons of knitwear inspiration! I visit my favorite boutiques and shopping neighborhoods. It reminded me of how I used to love living and working in the big apple. You can’t stop the hustle! MAY: My girlfriends and I traveled to Palm Springs for my big 40th birthday celebration. We had an exciting and fun time at a new destination. From baking in the sun, date shakes and the Joshua Tree National Park, we had fun making new memories. What more can I ask for? Girls trips are the best! AUGUST: Burning Man was an epic life changing experience. I know it sounds like I’m exaggerating for those whose never been. But it was! Everyone needs to go once. Just once! It been on my list of to do’s for the last few years and I was so glad I did, especially attending it with Peter. Black Rock City is one hell of a place! OCTOBER: I’m a lucky gal who has an awesome job that let’s me travel around the world. This year I had a chance to take a work trip to London and Paris. I highlighted about my 24 hour visit in Paris of all the places I love to eat, play and stay. Whether it’s just a day or a week, the city of light is always worth visiting. I can’t wait to go back again. NOVEMBER: After seven months of dedicated training, I ran my ever first marathon in New York City. This is the biggest item on my bucket list and could be tied with Burning Man on the level of “epic-ness”. When I finished the race, I was overwhelmed with every emotion any human can feel. Peter and I held each other and sobbed for ten solid minutes. That’s how crazy it was! The man never cries. Guys, I caught the marathon bug and want to race another one in 2018! Once I set a goal, I always put 120% into it. It gives a sense of huge accomplishment when I completed it. I know I should be doing it for myself, but I don’t like to disappoint people. So that gives me the drive and lights the fire in me to finish strong. That’s how I’m built! Well that’s all friends! 2017 was AMAZING! I can’t wait for 2018 to start making things happens! To all my readers, thank you for all of your support in the past year. I’m excited to share more with you in the next coming months. XO, E.
