Punk Rock X Okidokidz
On my latest trip back to New York City, I was able to find time to work on another styling collaboration with Okidokidz. They love using Kinsley as a model and want to do another photoshoot with her. This time the theme is Punk Rock. With YSL showing a fun spin of 80’s inspired pieces on their Spring 2017 runway show, we thought how would that translate to kids wear. We took the challenge and the results were pretty awesome. Check it out for yourself!
FIRST LOOK – PUNK ROCK DJ:
For this look, co-stylist Claire from Okidokidz style Kinsley with a mash up of boy meets girl. The faux leather hand painted bomber jacket with color block trims from D’Vander Collection, is a statement piece that works well with a pair denim jeans and a fun emoji sequin tee. We switched it up with a jean jacket for an alternative denim-on-denim look. We told Kinsley to “act tough” and these are the looks we got from her. To me, this angelic face will always be precious and sweet, like the girl she is.

SECOND LOOK – PUNK ROCK PRINCESS:
To continue with the Punk Rock theme, we wanted the second outfit to look girly with a bit of punk. We found a “headphone” tee with tiny black rhinestone and styled with a hot pink tutu skirt. We slashed the black polka dot tights with a pair of scissors and created an edgy street vibe. Kinsley wore them back with a pair of skull head high tops with detachable angel wings. A bit

Punk Rock DJ and Princess is how we approached the 80’s inspired looks from YSL. We loved how the styling of clothes, hair and of course the cute model, can interchange two looks so differently. Creating the styles within one theme can be approachable and translated in many ways to fit ones personality. For this we love the way Kinsley portrayed the story. She’s been such a natural in front of the camera and the lens captures her vulnerability and personality. (I can’t help it! I’m her proud mama!) Pictures do speak a thousand words!
