C’EST LA VIE
Last year around this time, I was in Paris for work researching trends (read the travel post here). I love that time of year, when the fall brisk air is perfect for sweater weather. Sitting on a street café eating a buttery croissant and sipping on a café, while people watching. Oh, how I’ve missed you Paris!
I’m sure you can tell I’m having major fomo of all the happenings at Paris Fashion Week and missing my once a year work trip to Europe. (That story on another time!) I even found some cute Parisian looking street lamps in Seattle to make this as believably French as possible. Editorial much?
MINI-JUPE (MINI SKIRT) LÉOPARD
My most current French obsession has got to be leopard prints. No one wears this pattern better, other than Parisian girls. It’s craves sex appeal and they can easily pull this off! Oooh la la…..so French chic!
*Chic is my least favorite word to use when describing anything fashion. But when it comes to French fashion, they naturally go together. Well chic is a french word to begin with, duh!
Dressing from work to date night, I put together a mini leopard printed calf skin skirt worn with a classic white shirt and green sweatshirt. The skirt hits right at the mid-thigh, just barely enough to be appropriate for the office and sexy enough for a date night.. (Well, at least for my office.)
The sweatshirt is in deep forest green with blouson sleeves for the extra feminine touch. I added a polished white button down shirt to add lightness to this outfit from being too dark.
This pastel mint green trench coat is so versatile. I can throw this over almost anything; jeans or a long flowy dress. It was a third piece that completed the entire look of this outfit. It also helped balanced the rest of the colors, especially how it compliments monochromatically back to the deep forest green.
LES ACCESSOIRES PARFAITS (THE PERFECT ACCESSORIES)
I don’t mean to be so literal (kinda), but I wore a beret. Come on! It’s not officially French until you wear a freaking beret. Am I right!?
Other accessories are these cute mint green ankle boots I bought from a blogger clothing sale. Check out those lucite heels. That was the selling point for me. It had me at “lucite”.
A bit of black tying back to the rest of the outfit, I’ve added my signature fishnet anklets for some extra sexiness. I have like over 10 pairs!
French label, Céline designs this chic white shoulder bag in lamb leather. Soft and supple with a touch of edge from the metal details.
The chunky bracelet is made of white chalk blocks adorned with clear rhinestones. It’s from a H&M x Marni collaboration from 2012. Oh and these round shaped rhinestones earrings are the perfect minimal bling for maximum impact!
I totally can see myself prancing along the streets in Paris with this look. Now if I can just get myself there soon enough. The February Paris Fashion Week, perhaps?
P.S: Get this similar outfit on the bottom of this post. I tried to find similar items close to my pieces. Have fun!
