For The Love Of Leather Overalls
Overalls are like the jumpsuit’s left out cousin. You know they’ve been around and at times forgot they ever existed, because you probably last wore them when you were a toddler. Somehow I just keep wanting to address this left out cousin, especially being the second time I’ve posted about overalls within the last three months.
Is this a trend you should follow? Sure, why not? It’s a brand new year, live a little! They are fun to wear and come in many variations, from pants to shorts. You just have to find one that suits you the best, so you have to do some trial and error. The one I’m wearing is made of leather from Olivia Palermo x Chelsea 28. Although it’s currently sold out from Nordstrom, here’s a similar pair. The overall is already a “push”, as we say in the industry meaning a style that is trendy, and being it made in leather it is even more of a “push”.
To dress it up, I layered it under with an ivory silk blouse with lace applique from Nordstrom Signature X Caroline Issa (here’s one similar). It makes the dark leather pop underneath and brings a bit of femininity to the outfit. I unexpectedly paired it with white Valentino sneakers (here’s a similar pair), with mesh ankle socks from Chelsea 28 (here’s a similar pair). The white tennis sneaker trend has been around for awhile and no signs of slowing down. If you haven’t gotten a pair yet, now is the time!
Tip: Taking a risk is half the battle. Finding the right trend to take the risk, is the other half.
I’m happy to help you find a pair of overalls that fits your style! Good luck!
