I have a long flow-y floral dress from last summer I love and can’t wait to wear it again. Since the warmer months won’t arrive anytime soon, I figured out a way to wear it without freezing my butt off.

I bought this dress at Anthropologie, during my April trip to New York City. They have the most prettiest feminine dresses amongst any retailers I shop at. Their prices are quite affordable, especially when it’s on sale and the options are endless. Whenever I want to feel pretty, it’s my trusted go-to place to find that special something.

The layers of ruffle florals on the bottom of the dress were really long. I’m 5′ 4.75″. In order for me not to fall on my face, I had to remove and hem up one full tier of ruffles. It was so long, I felt like I was wearing a wedding gown. The long hours spent in the sewing room during college years finally paid off.

It’s made of a light weight chiffon fabric, which allows the dress to flow easily and create tons of movement. TADA!

Dress Flow

Throwing an oversized navy turtle neck, from Fllippa-K., over the dress gives it ample space for comfort and warmth. It looks effortless and so easy to put together.  I felt comfortable in it all day long at work and dinner out with the family.

I’ve restyled the red boots from this recent post. These statement color boots really pops the entire look. It’s daring to wear such a bright color shoe. But pairing it back with black pumps would be so boring. Don’t you agree? I get tons of compliments every time I wear them. Honestly, I think I’m going to wear these until they fall apart.

Tip: If you’re not too sure about a trend and stepping out of your comfort zone is not your jam, invest small amount of money into it, just to try it out. These days retailers and fashion brands are churning out trends faster than ever. So there’s something for everyone.

You got a favorite summer dress in your closet? If you’re impatient like me, try layering it over with a biker jacket or a light weight turtle neck underneath to give it a Fall look. Or try my idea and tell me what you think?

XO, E.
