Recently I’ve been inspired by my friends and their travel journeys through Africa. Whether they are visiting their birthplace or helping a non-profit to build schools, I’m just FASCINATED!

A continent I’ve never visited but always been on my bucket list. All I know is  what I’ve read from books and watched in movies. There’s so much to learn and experience. The only way for me to have the slightest idea what life is like in Africa, is to travel and see it all for myself.

I have a sabbatical coming up and I’m seriously considering visiting this amazing land of rich culture, people, the safari and natural beauty. Wish me luck!

Feeling all the feels for Africa, I’m really drawn to this safari print jumpsuit I found at Anthropologie [Currently on sale and size are limited. See below for similar ones]. This piece is enriched with colors of the desert contrasted by abstract black and white florals.

The ground color of the print categorizes as part of the brown family, leaning more to the “redder” cast creating a desert sand color.  With the validation with recent Fall fashion shows from Europe, there has been talks about browns coming back as an important color. If you recall on my recent posts, I haven’t been a big fan of brown. But, I’m slowly easing up to the idea.

The flounce-y sleeves creates a softer look against the bold print. With the tie around the waist, cinching it up to give a feminine silhouette. The length hits perfectly at the ankle. I”m 5’5″, so wearing flats would work perfectly. More on the heels below.

I can’t get enough jumpsuits this season. This piece is just bold and beautiful.

These Adam Selman X Le Specs cat eye sunglasses are modern retro, especially in the white color.  All the bloggers are wearing these cool shades these days. Different versions of them are all over Instagram. I didn’t think I get trapped in one of these and it took me a while to really get used to them. But I’m digging this look!

Note: I don’t have a high nose bridge (blame it on my parents), but these fit perfectly on my face without sliding down. #asianpeopleproblems

What’s more safari vibes, than a straw bag! I got this Brixton [similar] round tote and love the black and neutral colors going back perfectly to the color story. The shape is what really caught my eye on how modern it looks. I hadn’t seen a straw bag in this shape before. I can take this to the beach or to work. Or to both on the same day even! Major score!

There’s nothing like suede when it comes to the desert! These Jimmy Choo sandals I bought last year, I finally found the courage to wear. I didn’t know how to style the brown. When I bought the jumpsuit, it was  just perfect. It’s subtle and understated. The tiny black whip stitch along the front toe straps matched perfectly to the print.

It’s finally the end of summer and it’s bitter sweet. I’m excited to share one of the last outfits with you before I start to think about the transitional seasons. Oh and Fall! My favorite season, is just around the corner…..Stay tuned!

Will you try a safari print? Thoughts on brown coming back?
