How To Accentuate Your Legs?
My friends always think I’m actually taller than I really am. It’s probably from all the heels I wear, but I’m actually 5′ 4.5″ tall, half inch from petite size. Yes that half inch matters! Let’s be honest, we always want to seem taller than we actually are. Well, here’s a trick I found that will give you daddy-long-legs for days!
It’s nothing new, but let’s channel the 90’s and I’m referencing the movie Clueless. I’ve watched this movie many times and I have to admit, we all dreamt of that rotating closet Cher has in her room. Do you remember she always wore thigh-highs or over-the-knee socks with short skirts? Well, guess what? The 90’s are back!
To accentuate my 5′ 4.5″ height, I have on a pair of floral jacquard Lotus Thigh-Highs from Fenty for Stance by Rihanna. The colors are Fall appropriate and I’m currently obsessed with burgundy! The pair are made in a cotton blend, so very comfortable and the stretch helps keep it up on the thighs. Basically you can wear them back with any type of boots. The shorter the boots, the longer your legs will look.
This is also a less expensive way to achieve the look of over-the-knee boots that’s on trend, I’m holding off on purchasing. We all know a nice pair can be up their in price. So I’m waiting out the trend and going with the affordable option for now. We call this in NYC “fake the funk”.
Keep in mind, proportions are very important on what you put on the bottom. I have on a pair of camel leather shorts from Leith and beat the cold for this outfit, as it was frigid in Seattle today. To make it more modern, I layered a cream mohair blend sweater with a relax fit, so it doesn’t look body hugging from top to bottom or I’ll look like I’m stuck in the real 90’s!
