The bodysuit trend has been surfacing since last year and you can see me chat about it here on this post. I ask myself how can I wear this trend without looking too “out of place”. Given the insecurities of my body, it shows all the curves and rolls. What a girl to do? Perhaps extra ab workouts or barre classes might do!? I thought I take a stab at this trend and see what how I can style it, so it’s suitable for my lifestyle.
I found this one in a cream mesh material. I was a bit timid about the sheerness, but having long sleeves made it less self-conscious. I wore it with a black lace bra and a black blazer for extra coverage, I’ve restyled from here. A little peek-a-boo never hurts, right? A nude or white camisole will also work if you want to cover a bit more.
I wore it over with high-waisted (or mom) jeans to smooth out the lady lumps and highlight the “junk”. (Wink Wink) These jeans have 5% spandex woven into the fabric keeping everything in place with comfort built into it. I can’t wear jeans these days without spandex.
The grey leather cross body/shoulder handbag has a square box shape, ample space for my phone, lipstick. It also has built in slots for credit cards. The chain strap gives a bit of modern sleek look. Perfect size for a night out of town.
I love wearing heels to get a little height when I want to feel like a supermodel. I’m 5’4.5″ average height, so inches of heels go a long way. These metallic gunmetal leather strapp-y sandals are easy to dress up or down. I’ve worn them to weddings many times. They are classic and timeless.
After trying out this outfit, I can see myself wearing it to a girl’s night out, a concert or a date night with Peter. I’ve found many versions out there and I can’t wait to try them all (scroll down). This won’t be the last of the bodysuit!
Don’t feel apprehensive when trying new things. You’ll never know how it’ll make you feel. Or how many heads you’ll turn. Give this a try and tell me all about it on comments below.
