Dress Up Sweatshirt Dress Up Sweatshirt Europe has always been the leader in setting trends. As a fashion designer, I would make market research trips to London, Paris and Milan for inspirations and ideas for the next season, from color to silhouettes to stitches. I usually come back with tons of ideas and excited to begin my design process. With my my most recent trip to Florence, Italy, I saw a huge trend in athletic inspire wear, also known as “athleisure”. Athleisure-wear has been around the last few seasons from influences from designer houses to fashion bloggers, but it’s been hitting the high street (or main stream market) most recently and there’s no slowing down. The question is how do you adopt athleisure-wear to your everyday life, and for me that’s work? Dressing down athleisure wear with jeans for the weekend is a no brainer. But how do I wear it when I got to work. I dress up the oversized sweatshirt, I’d bought from COS, with a flirty printed silk skirt I’ve had forever. The feminine lace print and soft silhouette balances the structured sweatshirt. I wore a pair of black crystalized tights for a bit of sparkle, finished with a pair of Chanel patent sandals. My new favorite classic ivory peacoat is from Nordstrom Signature X Caroline Issa that I got on sale. The length hits perfectly at the hip and works proportionately with my height, making me look a bit taller. Yeah! Who doesn’t want a bit of extra height!? Another recent purchase from Italy, is a new rose gold pebble leatherGucci wallet I bought at the outlet mall. Yes, there’s an outlet mall! It’s definitely a great place to buy discounted designer pieces, without breaking the bank. I bought mine for $220. I like to invest my purchases on things I use for a long time, so I tend to choose classic styles. I like fun colors for wallets as it’s a great way to add a pop of color to your wardrobe or bag. The pink is soft and subtle, almost a neutral shade. I’M IN LOVE with it! Top: Oversized high-neck black sweatshirt by COS Skirt: Halogen shirred printed mini skirt. Here‘s a similar one. Shoes: Chanel sandals. Here’s a similar one. Tights: Black tights with crystal. Here’s a similar one. Coat: Ivory coat by Nordstrom Signature X Caroline Issa. Similar one here.
