Our lives can get busy between family, work and social life. But Peter and I always carve out quality time together, whether it’s date night, riding the bus, watching T.V. or a romantic getaway. Anytime we get a free moment alone is special.
We had the pleasure to stay at the newly opened W Bellevue Hotel for a mini romantic stay-cation. Firstly, we were greeted at their Welcome desk. They remembered us from the last time we stayed there, while work was being done at our house. The friendly staff took very well care of us. From the warm greetings to then escorting us to the Marvelous Suite.
They have a “whenever, whatever” policy. Which means they basically allow hotel guests to do as they please. From dancing on their Living Room Bar couches to request a pack of gum in the middle of the night. I haven’t tried any of them yet, but awesome to know they will happily accommodate!
This location has a state of the art fitness center, a library room and an outside deck they call the Porch. Once I’m there I feel like I escaped to somewhere cool and urban like Los Angeles or New York City. It’s is also pet friendly and offers special services, from grooming services to walking your furry friends.
After we checked-in, we had extra time before dinner and grabbed a cocktail at the downstairs bar Civility & Unrest. It’s a modern speakeasy offering a wide range of crafted emulsions. After dark, this place becomes the “it” place to be. Don’t forget to check out the back room for some live tunes with local DJ’s.
Our dinner reservation was at Lakehouse, located conveniently upstairs on the second floor. The decor is bright and light with tall ceilings and greeneries to contrast the white walls. Their menu is farm-inspired using freshly crafted ingredients. All the dishes sounded delicious with tons of varieties. From grilled octopus to roasted cauliflower, there were something for everyone. Peter and I love to eat. So we have high expectations when we go out dining at a James Beard winning-chef Jason Wilson restaurant.
Overall, having a romantic stay-cation was just what we needed, before the holiday madness takes over. We had a fun time playing tourist in our city and trying new venues. It’s important for us to reconnect and remind ourselves what life was before “adulting”. A reminder about “US”, is the key to our happy marriage.

ABOUT THE OUTFIT:
Recently, I won the grand prize for a street style contest from Bellevue Collection, which included a $500 DVF gift card. I used it on this velvet devore (or burnout) kimono dress. When I tried it on, I knew I had to have it.
The dress came with a slip, but I wore a black velvet bodysuit underneath instead. It was more revealing than what I’m used to, but I decided not to care what others think. It’s now or never, baby! The velvet burnout took the colors vibrantly, making it appear bright and rich.
The dress can be worn back with skinny jeans or a pair of leather pants for a day look. During the summer, I can wear a bathing suit underneath as a beach robe. I can’t wait to restyle it and show you guys how versatile it can be.
I accentuated my legs by wearing ankle boots and a pair of fishnet anklets, just to be a bit promiscuous. Fishnets are super in! I even wear them with sneakers.
The colors on the snakeskin bag matched perfectly. It also added a different texture to the outfit. This bag has card slots for credit cards, and big enough to hold my phone and lipstick. My rules in purchasing a bag. It’s the perfect going out bag.
