It is finally happening! The birthday that I’ve been dreading is here and it ain’t going nowhere! You may ask why am I freaking out over a birthday?!
Well it’s not just any birthday, its number forty. The big 4-0! It’s where I’ve moved onto the next bracket. You know, the age bracket you check off on applications when you begin new decade. So mine will go something like this “40-44”.
I always knew what the twenties would be like: college, partying, meeting boys, build a career and discovering my “identity” through the journey of adulthood.
The thirties: marriage, start a family, buy a house, bills and 401K. I knew these life goals, because my parents and basically the human society taught me those were the things you prepare your life for.
But what’s next? No one ever bother to tell me or knows the answer.
You can ask Peter and my closest friends how I’ve been talking about turning the new decade for the last year, and they’ll probably say “she’s driving me crazy!” or “she’s going through a mid-life crisis”. I literally drove them nuts while they all try to help find my path or soul search, for the lack of better words.
Then my dearest friend Sarah talked me into writing a blog.
Honestly, it’s been a life savior. The motivation to get up every morning and finding inspiration through my outfits to build content on this blog, has truly been fun and exhilarating. It may not be the answer, but it’s something to look forward to everyday. I mean I get to connect with you folks! How awesome is that?
In all seriousness, I’m not afraid of aging. That’s part of life, isn’t it? What I’m freaking out is not living my life to the fullest.
I think that’s why I’ve been taking more trips and checking off a couple of bucket list items. So what’s next for me? I don’t know. What I do know it’s to celebrate and enjoy life.
I need to quit worrying about what I can’t control. I need to be thankful for my health, family, friends and all that I’ve achieved so far.
Tomorrow will happen no matter what, just need to make sure I look cute living in it!
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present.

About this photoshoot: I originally ordered six 24″ in diameter balloons, but Peter had a difficult time fitting it into our SUV. So we had to let one go. It was not fun getting the balloons to the location, but the results of the photos turned out amazing.
Thanks to Jason, my dear friend and photographer! It was the best photoshoot collaboration and the most fun, as you can tell.
To my readers, I appreciate and thank you for all of your support in coming along this ride with me. Exciting things are coming our way…..
