2019 FALL TREND SERIES VOL. 1: SATURATED COLOR MIX Happy first week of October! Welcome to the first volume SATURATED COLOR MIX, as I dive into Fall Trends of 2019. For every week in October, I will be introducing new trends that are strong contenders, which can easily help you stay current with the latest. It’ll make it easier for you to find those “must have” pieces. Fashion month officially comes to an end. Runway shows and street-styles from New York, London, Copenhagen, Milan and Paris, were full of INSPIRATION. There were countless shows happening everyday. To be honest, it was quite overwhelming keeping up (in a good way). However, I managed to put together four important trends that’ll help take you to the Fall season. SATURATED COLOR MIX You guys know I love color! So you can believe how excited, when I saw an explosion of saturated colors coming down the runways. My jaws literally dropped and I couldn’t wait for the season change. In the past Fall runways, colors were muted tones of darks and velvety rich tones. This year I’ve noticed bright and saturated colors, but what made it Fall appropriate were the color mix back with earthy tones. Brighter hues tend to be suitable for Spring/Summer seasons. Corals, bright oranges, acid yellows, for instance. I love how these new shades give a breath of fresh air to Fall. These colors will sure take your mind off the dreary cold weather. See below runway references from the Lanvin, Jacquemus and Chloe shows. They were all pieces I’ve had for years, sitting in my closet ready to be styled. Why buy more new clothes, when I have items that already address the trend. For instance, these trousers are made of light weight wool with fold-up cuffs and button details in rust color. They are well-made with fine tailoring such as pleats for ease and a self fabric belt. I always made sure on closet clean outs, I keep pieces that are constructed well and made to last. Hence, another amazing piece I managed to keep around, is this check plaid coat with soft blue lining. The plaid pattern is a huge trend, as I mentioned on my latest Stylelogue post. So keep a lookout and start styling those plaid items you have in your closet. With this oversized silhouette, I was able to layer over a gorgeous chunky cashmere sweater in a mid-tone cerulean blue. Soft and cozy, perfect for the cold months to come. All the colors collectively with the rust and cerulean blue compliments back to the the plaid pattern. Not colors I would normally put together, but this combo looks fresh and new! I am really digging this! Can’t wait to mix up more saturated colors together. I like to keep the shoes and accessories tamed, when I am focusing on the outfit. Therefore, I paired them back to black, while adding texture with the materials and details.
