Today is not a Monday, but it is a “Mom-day” being the first day back to work from an amazing family vacation to Japan. The only downside is trying to get over the jet-lag and the loads of laundry accumulated from the 11 days we were gone. Getting up out of bed wasn’t easy either and work was dragging my feet. None-the-less, I needed help from Starbucks and Kinsley, my “Mom-day” stylist.
Kinsley picked the navy monotone outfit with the skirt, because she’s the girliest girl you’ll ever meet and she’ll wear skirts everyday if she can! The Halogen (here’s one similar) jacquard cotton blend navy skirt in a foulard pattern. The length falls on mid-thigh. The perfect length for my 5’5″ height, proportionately accentuating my legs. The best thing about the skirt, are the side pockets that holds my phone and lipstick. The other best thing is the elastic back that holds my waist and blouse together. Polish and poise!
The blouse from Olivia Palermo x Chelsea 28 (here’s one similar) is made of a silky swiss dot clip jacquard. Though all in navy color, the texture gives it a complimentary dimension. The ruffles on the sleeve is fun and flirty. Currently on trend and definitely a piece I will wear into early spring.
I love shoes with low heels. I bought these navy suede pump from Manolo Blahnik ‘Listony”, It has a 1″ heel height and very comfortable to walk around in the office. The match-y match-y navy tights are the perfect completion to my monochromatic outfit and kept me warm from the frisky weather.
Tip: Wear monochromatic colors in neutral navy or greys, to look longer and leaner.
