My fashion design career has brought me to many places around the world for the last 18 years. Through my travel experiences, I’ve got my routine down on how to stay hydrated and comfortable on flights. It’s a make or break trip, especially those long ones.
I’ll be on a business trip to London and Paris next week (so excited!). I thought I spare you the misery and share with you a packing list of things that I absolutely can’t live without.
Goop Organic Skincare: I’ve tried many different types of skincare in the past. My most recent obsession is from Goop. They partnered with Juice Beauty and use organic juice extracts on all their products. The exfoliating and night cream has done wonders on my skin. Most recent, I’ve been using drug store products and they’ve been fine. But once I started with this product, I’ve seen tremendous improvement especially with adult acne, after I broke 40! They offer a trial size of the same products here, in case you don’t want to fully commit. However, it’s been recently sold out. Go get on their waiting list ASAP.
Salt Spring Soapworks Lip Balm: Shea butter is the best moisturizing ingredient on the market. The air can be dry on the plane, so this works wonders. This one in particular feels light and made with all natural ingredients you can pronounce.
L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream: Again shea butter! Can’t ever get enough of it. Comes in several sizes and the travel one is perfect for the handbag. And the scent smells just like baby powder! Yummmm
Mario Badescu Facial Spray: Hydrating your skin is very important when the air is typically dry on the plane. I used this spray filled with aloe, herbs and rosewater to refresh my skin. And it smells amazing!
Rodin by Recine Hair Oil: I have dry frizzy hair when it comes to humid climates. A few drops of this magic potion, and my hair has life again. The bottle size is small enough to put in your carry on.
GHD Classic Styler: I can’t live without this gadget. It’s recommended by hair professionals and worth the investment. The round barrel easily creates curls, waves and straight style. My first one lasted 8 years!
Oribe Texturizing Spray: This stuff is hair crack! The best in the market. It’s an investment. However, when you don’t have time to wash your hair, a few spritz to the roots allows to absorb hair oil and you’re good to go. Time is money!
Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones: These days the free airplane ones just doesn’t cut it. I love my noise cancellation headphones and for long travels, it’s a savior. The best thing yet, it’s wireless and has up to 40 hour battery life. Just the rose gold color alone, is to die for!
Accmor Tabletop Selfie Stick: This one is a one of the sturdy ones that won’t blow away when it’s windy. So it’s definitely heavier and does its job. I use it to take my ootd photos when I’m alone. Fun fact: Peter is embarrass whenever I use the selfie stick.
Barefoot Dreams Cozy Socks: I like to take off my shoes when I fly to keep the circulation flowing. To keep my feet warm, I bring cozy socks. These are fluffy and super soft.
Glow Beauty Boosting Eye Mask: I try to sleep on the plane, especially on those long international flights, so I be up and running when I land. This one has copper infused into the fabric “to enhance skin appearance for a healthy, youthful glow”. Win!
Nordstrom Wool Cashmere Scarf: I have these in different colors as they are the best by far for the price. The size of it is large enough I can wrap around my neck a few times or use it as shawl to cover my shoulder.
Zella Joggers: I’m obsessed with joggers lately and can’t get enough of them. The relax fit, ease in the hip and legs gives ample amount of comfort when sitting in a long flight, while looking stylish at the same time. The heather color has a subtle pattern that hides lint and stains well.
Longchamp Tote: I own two of these and found this new one to be even more practical. The best feature is the expandable zippers creating extra space, in case I do extra shopping. The size is perfect as a carry on or weekend bag. Plus it folds flat so you can put it in your luggage until you’re ready to use it. It offers a range of gorgeous pop colors.
What are some of your travel must haves in your luggage? Please do share!
