Spring Forward Into Accessories
February is the most dreary month in Seattle. Its grey skies and moody temperatures makes me dread the final months of winter. I’m so looking forward to Spring to come sooner than ever, especially this year with the huge snow storm we had the last week. With that said, I’m so excited to introduce you to a couple of my favorite accessories that helps brighten up my day.
I’ve always been a fan of Christian Louboutin shoes, but kept my distance with his bags. As a designer myself, it usually takes time for any designer to master a new category. Although I’ve always kept an eye on his bags and waited for the right design to pull the trigger in owning one. Well, the wait is OVER! The Christian Louboutin Paloma Pink Small Tote in Baller Ballerina Pink in a beautiful pebble calfskin leather is the perfect size and color to move my accessories collection to the spring season. The sturdy structural bag has three compartments to fit your wallet, phone and a few girly essentials secured by a slip on tab. The nude color handles was inspired by legs of cabaret dancers. And of course you can’t miss the signature red color accents from Mr. Louboutin. The studs on the gusset of the bag gives an edge of bad girls meets good girl vibe with the soft pink color on the exterior. Extra fitting when the pink color is called Baller Ballerina.
*The small size is sold out, but the medium size is available. The rose from Roseur’s Valentine’s day collection is not included.
And remember those shoes made famously from the Sex and the City Urban Shoe Myth episode. Yes! That episode when Carrie goes to the Vogue accessories closet and discovers the Manolo Blanik’s Campari Black Patent Leather Mary Jane. When I saw these shoes my heart skipped a beat and remembered that scene from SATC, I just had to have them! However, my pair has stack heel for more comfort and stability called the Campy 90mm Mary Jane Pump. The patent leather is the finest from Italy and edged with gross grain trim to add a bit of femininity. Mr. Blanik had wanted to emulate the classic children’s mary jane shoe and made it sexier with the pointed toe. I’ve updated these classics by wearing a pair of fun stripe socks from Calzedonia. I’ve been reading many fashion blogs and magazines, and this is the next big thing. The new way of wearing any footwear is to pop it with bright color and patterned socks. It so much fun and you don’t have to buy a new pair of shoes to make your outfit new, just buy a pair of new socks. It’s way more economical. You’ll be seeing me wearing this trend through the transition season when it’s still too cold to wear open toe shoes. Stay tuned!
Tip: Sometimes it’s as simple as changing a small piece of clothing, to refresh an outfit. Keep in mind new colors and patterns.
