I began wearing pleated skirts in the last year. I own it in three different colors: Ivory, Black and now Pink! I find the silhouette versatile, when putting outfits together. I can dress it up in a pointy heel or dress it down with a pair of cool kicks. It’s so feminine and makes me feel like a lady, especially when I walk, the voluminous pleats flow gracefully. The best thing yet, it packs lightly in a suitcase and wrinkle-free, because of the structural folds. This speaks VOLUME (pun intended)!
The midi-length of the pretty pink skirt hits right at mid calf and pairs perfectly with these patent bow sneakers. These kicks came with two different extra laces, one satin and one weave pattern. I used both to create a statement. I feel like a ballerina when I wear these two together, except I’m not dancing on pointe (thank goodness).
I kept this outfit feminine with casual pieces, such as this “East Coast Notorious B.I.G./West Coast TuPac” tee I bought from Forever 21. It’s one of my favorites, because it represents my love of both sides of the country and hip hop music. The crop denim jacket is the right proportion to the skirt. The length finishes right at the waist, so it doesn’t cover up the beautiful skirt. Can you believe I’ve owned this jacket for ten years and still fit into it?
I’m wearing these 50’s inspired sunnies to throw back a little classic style to the look. The Christian Louboutain handbag I restyled from another outfit is on this post. Another piece that’s both edgy and feminine at the same time. That’s best to describe my style. Feminine + Modern Classics + Downtown Edge = ME. I love mixing pieces you normally wouldn’t put together to create something unexpected. Gives it a fresh look!
