Happy Momday (Monday)! Starting a fresh new week, from a fantastic weekend of celebrating my husband’s birthday with some of our favorite peeps. (You know who you are!) I woke up today with full eight hours sleep and in a peppy mood. Kinsley couldn’t have chosen a better outfit!
My ootd (outfit of the day) is a mish mosh of comfort, fun and flirt. I have on my most comfy cashmere sweater, I designed from Nordstrom. The chevron stitch creates a graphic texture and has subtle hidden zipper details. The sweater is layered over a stripe knit ruffle tee that peeks out just enough on the hem to show a bit of playfulness.
The cuffed denim, was restyled from my latest post. The length works perfectly to show my fun side with wooden platform shoes and funky toe socks I bought from Japan. Whenever I wear these sandals, I feel like Frankenstein trying to walk with heavy stiff legs. It’s quite amusing!
Ok now it’s time to talk about my red plaid coat. I purchase this coat on my most recent trip to Florence. I randomly saw this piece at a boutique on a street I never walk on. I love those serendipitous discoveries. I was drawn to the color and pattern. It’s quirky and playful. I usually don’t wear loud patterns for coats, but it was on sale, so I gave it a try. Once I had it on, I just couldn’t take it off. It looks heavy but it’s very light weight, probably because it is not made with the usual structure of a tailored coat. It’s unlined but fused with a layer of jersey knit. The shape is simple and easy to style, but keeping in mind to let the coat do all the talking. We call this a “statement” piece in the industry.
Have a fun start of the week!
