On our mommy and daughter dates, two of our favorite things to do are getting manicures and eating ice cream. We love to get all pretty and indulge ourselves to a sweet treat, which makes the collaboration between Veque and Molly Moon’s the perfect combo.
When I learned about local Seattle businesses, Veque partnering with Molly Moon’s to create a set of nail polish with their ice cream flavors, I immediately got excited about their project. I wanted to be part of it and support the small businesses, that makes up our community. Did I mention these are lady bosses as well?
Let’s just say, Kinsley has been excited about this for weeks, once she heard there were ice cream and manicures!
[Note: This set of nail polish is available for limited time only. Sold at Molly Moon’s online shop $45. For more gorgeous nail colors, Veque is giving a 25% discount. Use code ‘EFORELISA” at checkout. Offer ends 3/1/2018.]
Our go-to ice cream boutique Molly Moon’s, has been serving delicious creamy goodness in Seattle for that last ten years using locally PNW sourced ingredients. They offer yummy sophisticated flavors such as Salted Caramel, Lavender and my favorite Earl Grey. Seasonal flavors are also offered for a limited time, such as Mexican Chocolate and Blood Orange. Way to satisfy a sweet tooth!
Other than keeping their ice cream fans happy, their other mission is to make the world a better place. They give back part of their sales to the community, using compostable materials, raise money for public schools and local food banks. Their motto is “ICE CREAM MAKES YOU HAPPY”, and they weren’t kidding! You can tell by the smile on our faces.
When I met the creator and owner Audrey from Veque, I immediately fell in love with the story behind the brand. The Vietnamese immigrant story, of how they hone their manicure skills to earn a living in the US, was touching. She wanted to honor them by creating a nail polish product that’s vegan, using 9-free non-toxic formulas. The small batches of color are created in their Seattle studio to monitor quality control, so you know you’re getting the best of the best.
Kinsley and I used the Lavender, Salted Caramel and Earl Grey colors to create fun original patterns. The little dots on top represented rainbow sprinkles, her favorite ice cream topping. She had a special request of an ice cream cone nail art on both of her thumbs. Isn’t it cute? I wanted my nails to look modern and fun, by choosing a diagonal pattern alternating all the colors. Cool yet sophisticated!
It was a fun day getting our nails done and eating several cones of ice cream (cuz it kept melting). Thank goodness there weren’t any bellyaches.
