Holiday Festivities – Seattle Issue
Whether you’re visiting for the holidays or a resident of this beautiful growing mid-size metropolis, Seattle is one of the cities that won’t dissapoint on things-to-do around town with your family and loved ones. Here’s my personal list of festivities my family (husband and 5 year old daughter) love to do when it comes to Christmas festivities.
George Balanchine’s Nutcracker by Pacific Northwest Ballet: Every year the PNB put on a spectacular show at the Seattle Center’sMcCaw Hall. This year in particular, they present a new scenery and beautiful costumes designed by author and illustrator of Olivia the Pig, Ian Falconer with PNB Ochestra playing scores from Tchaikovsky and ballet performances from the PNB dancers. Now until 12/28.
Leavenworth Christmas Lighting: Come visit this Bavarian theme town and enjoy the magic of Christmas with million bulbs of festive lighting, angelic voices of carolers and much more, while enjoy the landscapes of snow mountains. The festival lighting is happening now through New Year’s. Catch it before it’s too late!
Teddy Bear Suite at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel: Whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart, who doesn’t want to be in a room full of teddy bears? This year marks the Teddy Bear Suite, 20th year anniversary. It’s become a tradition to visit this free event at one of the most prestige hotels in Seattle, with donations benefiting the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Now until 12/27.
Snowflake Lane by the Bellevue Collection: My family and I love coming to this full of life holiday outdoor performance. From snow queens, dancing peppermint girls, stilt walkers to live percussionists, this free event has become our family tradition. You will be singing and dancing with glee! Now until end of 12/24.
Wonderland by Can Can Productions: (For the adults only). My husband and I watched a few cabaret shows from Can Can and it’s been quite the entertainment. With those sentual burlesque moves to elaborate costumes, this holiday themed, small-but-mighty venue will keep you laughing and smiling all evening. You will not be disappointed! Now until end of January.
Get out and enjoy the merry fun!
