The holidays are just around the corner and you’re probably starting to get those fun party invitations from family and friends; Secret Santa + Cocktail Parties. It’s time to start thinking about outfits for those festivities. Let’s be real! You don’t want to be that person that takes the holidays too literally and show up with an Ugly Christmas sweater. Well unless, that’s the theme for the party, then you’re good!
When it comes to the holidays, I love to wear anything sparkly to get in the mood. What girl doesn’t like shimmer and shine? I want to look festive, but without looking like the Rockefeller Christmas tree. I bought these sequin trousers from Alice & Olivia [similar here] and was dying to style them. I wanted to downplay the over embellished pants, so I wore it with a cashmere boucle sweater [similar here] in an oatmeal heather color. Sequins can be OTT (over the top) if worn head-to-toe. By breaking it apart and wearing them with something more casual, will help tone it down, like way down!
I love the length of these pants. They hit right at the ankle, so I can wear them back with these Chanel ankle boots [similar here]. These ankle boots have a burgundy patent on the front toe with a sliver of metallic gold trim. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? And the back of the heel also has gold trim as well, tying all the colors together. A neutral palette is the key here when wearing daytime sequins.
Which brings me to this gorgeous Agnes satchel cross body bag from Haerfest, I’ve been obsessing over and been using it every day since I got it! It’s in this beautiful burnt cognac color that’s a huge trend now, since “brown shades” are coming back (more than I want to admit). This is the perfect “it” bag! It has a simple classic silhouette with tailored finishes made in Italian leather that I can use from work to weekend. There’s just enough detail and hardware to make this bag special, especially their signature “ring and stud system”. The versatility is what I love about it the most. And the price is very reasonable for such a high-quality bag. I see myself using this bag for years to come.
- The color on these trousers has a light soft metallic gold keeping it subtly shimmer. While choosing the right sequin color, keep in mind brighter color, the “louder” it gets.
- Play with different textures by mixing suede, velvet & leather.
