Casual Layers For Work
In the fashion industry, you want to be taken seriously without looking “too serious”. What does that mean? We want to feel and look confident, without looking like we work in the finance industry. That means no paint suits or silk blouses with pencil skirts. I’ve been lucky to work in a creative field that gives me the opportunity to dress freely and creatively. The way I dress let’s me express my style and personality. I walk into work everyday and feel inspire from other coworkers on what they choose to wear. We’re all walking fashion palettes of the industry!
Hoodies are usually worn traditionally on weekends or for working out. However, with the athleisure trend still going strong, why not wear it to work. I styled mine with a denim vest to create a less serious look with these tailored trousers. The cashmere heather grey hoodie is light weight and appropriate for mild weather. Layering a denim vest over it adds warmth and a downtown edge pairing it with pants that are cut to perfection in the most beautiful wool blended fabric. The length of the pant hits right at the ankle allowing me to pair it back to these mesh booties I got from RealReal, a luxury resell website. See how I styled them in a previous post.
My style is a form of self-expression of my personality. We come from an industry that judges how you are dress. It may sound superficial, but who cares I get to wear whatever I want everyday.
