A Transition To Spring
This year has been one of the longest winters in the Pacific North West. Sometimes there were glimpse of hope when the sun would come out for a split moment and then goes back into cold bitter rain, better yet SNOW! There are times, I dreamt of putting on cute sun dresses, strappy sandals and even sunscreen. But that’s not happening anytime soon. It’s been a real drag! To keep my optimism for warm weather, I’ve styled an outfit that’s perfect for a smooth transition into spring.
A classic piece I will always have in my closet is a leather jacket. It’s the perfect weight for transitioning seasons, whether from Spring to Fall or Fall to Spring. It’s one of the most versatile piece and gives a bad girl edge to your outfit. Color leather jackets is the most recent trend on outerwear. However, I didn’t want to “invest” in a piece if I ever dislike the color later. So, the one I have on is made of faux leather in a hunter green color. Super affordable and addresses the trend at the same time!
Underneath the jacket I layered a printed cami with lace trim edge taking a play on feminine touches. The cuffed jeans are straight leg silhouette that sits perfectly at the waist, so I can tuck in the cami comfortably. The length of the jeans hits perfectly above the ankle, enough to show off the sandal/sock combo. I’ve been on a kick with wearing socks and sandals together. This is the perfect solution, until the warm weather comes around. The black socks and black sandals is subtle, so the focus is on the outfit. I finished off the outfit with a sky blue cashmere scarf in case it gets nippy out and a pop of color keeps me thinking of Spring!
