First day of spring was just this week but it doesn’t look like it’s getting warmer anytime soon. Mother Nature is playing us with cold temps in the months of March. You think we can bribe her for some warmer weather?
A THIRD PIECE
Since it’s still a bit chilly in the PNW, I like to wear cardigans as my third piece (a type of jacket), as we call it in the fashion industry. I bought this sweater on my last trip to Victoria BC, Canada, on a girl’s trip with Kinsley (post here). This third piece is made of Shetland wool by John Molloy, hand-knitted in Aran stitch cables, somewhere in beautiful Scotland. It’s a chunky weight so keeping me warm and cozy! The only way to wear it is on its own. Seriously, try fitting this into a coat. It just ain’t going to happen!
I wore a sheer mustard yellow color bodysuit underneath. It’s a bit risqué for my usual style. But it’s fashion! So, I try to push my comfort level sometimes. Although I did wear a bra underneath. No judgement please!
By adding the pink sheen pleated skirt, it brings a nice spring palette together (cream, pink, mustard, burgundy and a pop of red lips). These spring colors are appropriate and suitable for any transitional weather. Also, notice I try to balance the amount of skin showing by wearing a longer length skirt.
These Céline burgundy patent pumps are my fave, when it’s too cold to wear open toes sandals. It’s razor pointy in the front of the shoe giving s nice modern shape.
Oh and this Tri-fold Céline clutch. Each section is a different color making it easier to match up to a lot of items in my closet. It’s also roomy enough to fit a lot of my essentials. The clutch comes with a metal chain that hooks up on either end to create a shoulder bag look. Versatility!
Tip: Balance is key! If you have something shiny, wear something matte for the next piece. Or something sheer, go opaque on another piece.
Enjoy your weekend!
