Being married for nine years, Peter and I always remind ourselves to date each other. Whether were watching a live Dave Chapelle show, listening to our favorite house deejays or trying out a new restaurant, any time we get without the kiddo, is solid quality time together.
We love each other’s company, as much as we both hate to admit it. We bicker and we fight. But which couple doesn’t. We grow together as people and husband + wife. We communicate openly, even though the style of communication may not always be ideal (i.e. yelling!). Marriage is hard work!
Our dates are a good time to reconnect and have grown-up conversations. It takes time and effort to make them happen. So, we try to make it special by dressing for the occasion. Let’s be real. Where else am I going to wear all the pretty clothes in my closet!?
This is one of my favorite dresses to wear for many occasions, especially date nights. The versatility of dressing it up in silver metallic strappy sandals dining at a posh restaurant; or to a casual movie, wearing it with a pair of flats and denim jacket over it.
I love the drape-y silk fabric that hangs beautifully in a handkerchief hem giving it dimension and volume. The ties are finished with little glass gems. Most importantly the neckline is deep enough to give a bit of sex appeal without over revealing. Yowza! Ladies, it’s ok to be a bit provocative for the hubs. Keep things interesting!
Do you have a favorite date night outfit? Let me know if you’d like a list of my “out-of-the-box” date night places to go with the hubs?
